winemaker's notes
The 2007 Shiraz was again sourced from low yielding, high flavour profile Marschall-Groom Vineyards located in the famous Barossa sub-region of Kalimna. Here we have classically ‘moppa’ soils of sand over clay. This parcel of fruit underwent a 10 day ferment, again with a short period of post ferment maceration before going to a mix of new and 2-3 year old French Oak barriques for about 18 months maturation. As with all Solitary Wines it was racked/returned twice and bottled unfiltered. The wine itself is growing beautifully in the bottle, showing a textured, fruit complex style with a rich, long finish.
recommended drinking
Will develop beautifully over the next 5-8 years
